Production has started on Bruce Springsteen’s upcoming biopic, “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” and we have the first look at Emmy award winner Jeremy Allen White (“The Bear”) as The Boss, as first reported by Variety.
Writer/director Scott Cooper (“The Pale Blue Eye,” “Antlers”) will adapt Warren Zane’s 2023 book of the same name, which chronicled the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album “Nebraska.” Stephen Graham (“Gangs of New York,” Boardwalk Empire”) signed on to play Springsteen’s father Douglas. Jeremy Strong will portray Springsteen’s longtime mentor and manager, Jon Landau. Paul Walter Hauser will also star as guitar tech Mike Batlan, and Odessa Young as the musician’s love interest, Faye. A press release about the upcoming film gave some more details:

“The development of “Nebraska,” which followed Springsteen’s 1981 “The River Tour,” marked a pivotal time in his life, one that he would only openly talk about decades after its release,” reads a description from the release. “It’s regarded as a landmark in his musical odyssey and a source of inspiration for a generation of artists and musicians.”
Filming is scheduled in New Jersey throughout the fall and winter months. “Deliver Me From Nowhere” has no set date, but it is slated to be released sometime next year.
